The formula of a slope:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have B(5, 2) and C(11, -6). Substitute:

m=(-6-2)/(11-5)=(-8)/(6)=-(8:2)/(6:2)=-(4)/(3)

Answer: A. -4/3

Answer:

-4/3

Explanation:

B(5, 2)

C(11, -6)

Choose either point to be (x_1, y_1); then, the other point will be (x_2, y_2).

Let (x_1, y_1) = (5, 2)

Then, (x_2, y_2) = (11, -6)

slope = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

slope = (-6 - 2)/(11 - 5)

slope = -8/6

slope = -4/3
