slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m=(1-(-5))/(4-2)

m=(6/2)

m=3

The formula of a slope:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have (2, -5) and (4, 1).

Substitute:

m=(1-(-5))/(4-2)=(1+5)/(2)=(6)/(2)=3

Answer: The slope is equal 3.
