That debate is prevalent in the United States today: how much influence should the government have on businesses, workers, and the economy? Some people say that the government should not have much influence on the economy—only the minimum necessary to ensure that society functions well. Others say that the government should ensure fair and equitable distribution of resources for all companies and workers. Still others say that the role of the government falls somewhere between those two extremes. You can start thinking about the intersection of government and the economy in the United States by considering your everyday life. From the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night, what contacts do you have with the government? Which of those contacts are related to the economy?

Explanation: First, when I wake up in the morning, I change my clothing and have to put on something appropriate for school, so I won't wear swimwear or no clothes at all, for example, because the government claims that schools have the authority to teach us and instruct us what to wear. Furthermore, I am unable to go out without clothing since the government is bound by the law, which states that being undressed on public streets is illegal. My parents will have to pay a fee if I walk outside undressed. Second, I take the bus to school, and it is the government's responsibility to ensure that all student buses are in good working order so that no accidents occur. The government is responsible for funding public schools. Third, the government must fund public schools so that our parents do not have to pay for their children's education. When I go to school for lunch, the government needs to pay workers to ensure that the food is safe. The government pays all of my teachers and other school employees. Fourth, when I go home, I eat snacks that my parents bought at the grocery, and the government must determine which things are necessary for people and cannot be prohibitively costly so that everyone can afford them. Finally, it is the government's responsibility to ensure that all of the people's fundamental activities go smoothly. Almost everything we do is governed by the government monetarily, including having public schools, eating our food, and even making individuals obey the law.

Answer: The contacts that I have with the government since the moment I woke up in the morning until I go to bed at night are:

First: When I woke up I change my clothes and I have to put on something suitable for school so I won't use swim clothes, or no clothes at all for example, because the goverment says that schools have the right to educate us and tell children what to wear. Also, I cannot go out without clothes because the goverment has to follow the law, which tells me that is a crime to be naked in public streets. If I go naked outside, my parents will have to pay a fine because I am breaking the law.

Second: When I go to school I take the bus and the goverment is the one that has to check that all scholar buses function properly so there are no accidents. The government has to pay the public schools

Third: The government has to pay the public schools money to function so our parents don't have to pay for education. When I eat my lunch at school, the government has to pay people also to control that the food it's good. All my teachers and people working at school is payed by the government.

Fourth: When I come back home, I eat snacks that my parents bought in the supermarket, and the goverment has to decide which goods are essential for people and cannot be so expensive, so all the people can buy it.

In conclusion, the government is responsible to check that all basic activities that people do work properly. Almost all things we do are controlled economically by the government, to have public schools, to eat our food and even to make people follow the law.
