if you mean paraphrasing it then here:
The sweet delight of a fortune cookie is amazing! When Sam and Julie entered The Cookie Box, Julie told him that it was Sam's favorite restaurant. "It's typically eaten after the meal in an Asian restaurant and always accompanied with a positive message that offers the eater hope and happiness," she said.
In comparison to other eateries in the area, The Cookie Box was a family-run establishment that served terrific meals and even better fortune cookies. Due to a minor altercation she had with one of the waiters on her birthday in August of last year, Julie had not returned since. She felt too ashamed to go back.
Sam and Julie sat down and placed their lunch orders. When their lunch was delivered, they got right to work eating. Julie snatched two fortune cookies after they were done. She gave Sam one before quickly ripping open her own. Watch your back, it said.
This had to be a joke, Julie reasoned. She took a peek around the crowded restaurant because she thought the offender would be there. She suddenly noticed something or someone out of the corner of her eye. The server from her birthday in August of last year, Veronica, was there. Julie was more than a touch nasty to the server, something Julie felt ashamed to acknowledge.
Nothing appeared to be going Julie's way on her birthday. The new outfit she had bought had not yet come, three of her guests had unexpectedly canceled, and everything else that she had thought might possibly go wrong did. Her reservation at The Cookie Box could not be honored. Julie complained the server who tried to help her with her reservation issue to the owner because she appeared weary and was behaving irresponsibly.
She then reappeared, gazing scornfully in her direction. The fact that Julie received a cautionary fortune cookie on the same day that she saw that server didn't seem random to Julie.
Julie quietly said, "She did it.
Who did what, huh? replied Sam.
"Oh! I'm sorry, but "Julie answered.
Julie realized Sam was present but chose to apologize and inform him that it would be best if he left because something unexpected came up.
Julie made the decision to leave when Sam did, and as she was halfway to her car, she heard a voice shouting her name. Veronica was there. She was pursuing Julie. In a furious tone, Veronica shouted, "You ruined my promotion!" When I heard her say that, I felt awful. My awful day didn't seem to have the power to wreck someone else's life.
I felt so humiliated.
I mumbled, "I'm sorry.
Veronica grinned and strode away. Because Julie knew Veronica would never forgive her, she made no attempt to stop her.
