For this case we have a complex number of the form:

z = a + bi

Where:

  • a: It's the real part of z
  • b: It's the imaginary part

To graph a complex number, the real part is represented by the x axis, while the imaginary part is represented by the y axis.

In this case we have the following number:

z = 2 + i

2 is the real part

1 is the imaginary part

The graph associated with this complex number can be seen in the attached image.
