Explanation:

If CB and BD are equal segments then you can solve for x by solving for

3x+6=8x-9

3x+15=8x (Add 9 to both sides)

15=5x (Subtract 3x from both sides)

x=3 (Divide 5 by both sides)

To find AB, substitute 3 and x
