For example when I have: 3x + 5 = 5, my next step would be to subtract the 5 from both sides;

I end up with 3x = 5 - 5;

Then I get 3x = 0

After this I divide the 3 to both sides to isolate the x on one side.

x = 0/3

Whenever a zero is on the numerator of a fraction it equals zero, whenever the zero is on the denominator it is undefined and this is a mathematical error.

x = 0

-15 (0) = 0

(-15)x=0

(-15) x = 0 ( divide by -15)

x = 0/-15 ( eliminate 0)

x = 0
