\mathrm{Remove\:parentheses}:\quad \left(-a\right)=-a\\=-\left(-5-c\right)\cdot \:1\\\mathrm{Multiply:}\:\left(-5-c\right)\cdot \:1=\left(-5-c\right)\\=-\left(-c-5\right)\\Distribute\:parentheses\\=-\left(-5\right)-\left(-c\right)\\Apply\:minus-plus\:rules\\\left(-a\right)=a\\Answer: =5+c

(-5-c)(-1)
can write as (-1)(-5-c)
multiply(-1) to (-5) then multiply (-1) to(-5)
answer 5+c
