Is 2x/3 the same as (2/3)x ? Just wondering

Honestly i dont think so because in 2x/3 its 2 times x divided by 3 while in the other problem you divide 2/3 then multiply the answer by x! So even though that may work sometimes always double check!!!

the best way to understand is putting a number in place of x and seeing if they are equal to eachother so just to make it simple i'll make x=6

so your first equation is 2(6)/3 =12/3=4 now the other equation would be (2/3)6 = 6

i actually solved it putting 2 in place of x and got the same answer for both so i think they're the same
