Working Out:

V = Δ x ÷ Δ t ;where V = velocity, Δ x = displacement, Δ t = change in time


V = Δ x ÷ Δ t

V = (12 m east) ÷ 3.0 s

V = 4 m/s to the east OR V = + 4 m/s


∴ The velocity of the wave is + 4 m/s
