How to find the distance AB ? A(0,1) B(2,-3)

Hey there!!

Distance formula :


\sqrt{(y2-y1)^(2) + (x2-x1)^(2)  }

Coordinates given :

( 0,1 ) and ( 2,-3 )

( y2 = -3 ; y1 = 1 ) ( x2 = 2 ; x1 = 0 )

Plugging in the values :

...
\sqrt{(-3-1)^(2)+(2-0)^(2) }

...
\sqrt{(-4)^(2)+(2)^(2) }

...
√(16+4)

...
√(20)

...
√(5)×
√(4)

... 2
√(5) units is the distance.
