I cant seem to figure this out please help. and if its okay may you please put in steps?

Where is the error with this solution?

2 + 3 * (5 + 4)

Step 1: 2 + 3 * 9

Step 2: 5 * 9

Step 3: 45

Step # =

Step 2 is wrong because you have to multiply first which suppose to be 2+21

The error happens in step 2 when the person decided to add 2+3 to get 5. The order of operations PEMDAS says that we have to do multiplication (M) before addition (A). So this is what the steps should look like:

2+3*(5+4)

2+3*9

2+27

29

The proper answer is 29
