False. The hip to waist ratio helps you determine where majority of the fat is being held either in your waist or hips. BMI isnt always correct because i am 5'3 and weigh 180lbs according to BMI i am obese or overweight however i am not because majority of my weight is my hips and legs. According to hip to waist measurements: my waist is ~36in, and my hips are ~43in.
