The distributive property works with 2 terms inside brackets and 1 term outside, or a common factor from 2 terms being taken out of both terms and put outside a set of brackts.

A is incorrect.

There is no multiplication in this operation at all anywhere. B is incorrect.

The commutative property says that a + b = b + a which is true in most math systems but that is not what happened here. C is not correct.

D is addition all right, but the signs are opposite. I would pick this as an answer, but hold your nose doing it.
