The equation:

Answer:

`|\overline{AK}|=3.5\ in\\\\|\overline{KB}|=8.5\ in`

BK = AK + 5

and AK + BK = 12

AK - BK = -5 Adding:-

2AK = 7

AK = 3.5

So BK = 12 - 3.5 = 8.5

Answer AK = 3.5 and BK = 8.5
