28÷8=3.5 3.5×90=315 You have to divide the number of calories your child drinks by the number of calories in a glass. Them multiply that by the number of calories your child drinks.

W e can use proportions for this question because it is directly proportional- when amount of milk increases, so does calories.

If x is equal to the amount of calories your child drank,

8 oz = 90 cal

28 oz = x cal

(8 oz)/(90cal) = (28ox)/(x cal)

Cross multiply.

8x= 28*90

8x = 2520

Divide both sides by 8 to isolate the x

x = 315 cal

You child consumed 315 cal.

Overbearing mother checking how many calories your child drank- the question is hilarious. But proportions are cool.
