A BamBoula is a drum, so it likely has a beat of it's own. Very distinctive. It is found mostly in West Africa.

Syncopation: is a variety of rhythms put together to make an off-beat piece of music.

I think of the choices given, I'd pick A, but don't be surprised if it is C. The poet is not improvising, I don't think. He is putting verious things together to paint a picture of a part of his life.
