This is my first time doing an equation with more than one variable, and I would like someone to check my work and tell me if I got the right answer. Thank you in advance.
Problem:
-5s - 4 - 9s = -26
Answer I got:
s = 2.6

You’d take the -5s and - it from 9s (keep the s together, and on only one side of the equal sign) = - 14s
-14s -4 = -26
-26 + 4
-14s = -22
Divide both by -14
S = 1.5714
