f(x)=mx+b\to y=mx+b

We have two points:

(-2,\ -6);\ (0,\ 0)

The point slope form of the line:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

substitute

m=(0-(-6))/(0-(-2))=(6)/(2)=3\\\\y-0=3(x-0)\\\\y=3x

Answer:

f(x)=3x
