Bruno is asked to estimate which area of the California City occupies the greater area, San Francisco or San Jose.

San Francisco is mostly city area where as San Jose is out in the Suburbs. So he muses that San Francisco is a bigger city as compared to San Jose.

So he relied on his Opinion. But the fact is, San Francisco is smaller than San Jose area wise. San Francisco is 48 sq miles, and San Jose is 180 sq miles.

Because he relied on his opinion, his estimation was wrong. In actual, answer is different

Bruno was misled because he relied on opinions.

Information can generally come from two sources: facts and opinions. But information coming from facts are more reliable. In this problem, Bruno assumed that just because San Francisco is located in the city, it already has a bigger land area. His opinion on how busy the area is correlated with the land area, which is not always the case. He should have referenced on the statistics of land area because these are reliable facts.
