sixty-two students, out of 100 surveyed, chose pizza as their favorite lunch item. If the school has 1250 students how many students would likely say that pizza is their favorite if the survey is a fair representation of the student body?

First of all i'm going to tell you how to set up #1 ... 62 over 100 = x over 1,250... then you have to cross multiply. 62 × 1,250 = 77,500... 77,500 / 100 = 775. Your answer would be 775 students would be likely to say that pizza is their favorite lunch item.

Hope this helps.
