Hans Memling

Hans Memling was born in the Middle Rhine region but moved to Flanders. He painted portraits and diptychs, and became one of the leading artists. He was also listed as on of the wealthiest citizens in city tax list.

One of his works was the Shrine of St. Ursula, a carved wooden reliquary.It is housed in the hans Museum, Brudges.
