x = Alicia's age

Amy is 8 years older than twice her cousin Alicia's age so Amy's age = 2x + 8

Sum of their ages is less than 32

x + 2x + 8 < 32

3x + 8 < 32

3x < 24

x < 8

So Alicia's age is greater than 0 but less than 8 years old

(0 < x < 8)

Answer:

A) 0 < x < 8
