In this question , it is given that slope of 5 and a y-intercept of (0,-2) .

Now we have to check out the equation of the line that we are gonna use here.

Here we use the slope intercept form, which is

y = mx + b

where m is the slope , which is 5 here and y intercept is b , which is -2 here.

Substituting these values in the equation, we will get

y=5x-2

Part b .

Now we have to substitute 0 for y, and find the value of x, that is

0 = 5x-2 \\ 5x=2 \\ x = (2)/(5)
