Greece is a crossroad of cultures, it is in Europe, but also it is near Egypt and the East. So it had a big exchange of ideas and philosophy, it developped science and trade, and being surrounded by the sea, it developped maritime skills (military and trading fleet). This lasted form antiquity to modern history.

Answer:

read below :)

Step-by-step explanation:

The geography of Greece consisted of mainly rocky islands that surrounded by sea, provided the perfect way to travel and trade between them. The shores provided seafood, and a good variety of crops like olives and grapes was abundant since the climate was ideal.

The proximity to the sea and the vast communication between cities also enabled a unique military arrangement, where invasion to Greece was very hard as each island would hold its military defences. The mountains, naturally played a major role as barriers to outside attacks.

For example, Sparta gained natural protection from the mountains, and since its crops were plentiful, the military was regularly wealthy and mighty.
