Do you think that the ethnic, racial, or gender identity of a psychologist would influence the way in which he or she does research or counsels others? Should it?

This sounds like a personal question and should be answered based off of your own personal opinion, but I’ll help you by stating mine.

I feel like all psychiatrists vary, as they are human and have their own ways of doing things regardless of gender, race and ethnicity. However I personally believe most psychiatrists try to approach a client or research from an unbiased standpoint. I feel like race, ethnicity and gender should not influence and create a bias toward the client, unless the psychiatrist can relate to the client’s own racial, ethnically or gender background
