The story of Chura and Marwe is an african Folktale. In the story there are two friends namely Chura and Marwe. Chura is a boy who has a toad-like face whereas Marwe is a beautiful young girl. Chura and Marwe were adopted by cruel parents and forced to work in the field. One day when they fail to protect the field from bears and birds, they got afraid and ran from the house. Marwe knew how to swim so she swam down to the Land with no Light and on the other hand Chura wandered from village to village in search of food and was chided away by the people because of his ugly looks. After wandering from village to village Chura reaches a place named 'Masai' where he began to herd the cattle and goats. One day in the village a lion came and to protect the cattle Chura took the spears and killed the lion and was honored by the Masai people and was given the name 'lion'. Meanwhile, Marwe comes up to the land of light to find his friend Chura, as they both dearly loved each other. She has becoming more beautiful. And she was given a piece of advice by the guards of the land with no light that she should marry only a person whose name is Lion(Simba). She meets Chura and wants to marry him but is sad with the advice she tells Chura that she is to marry only a person with name Lion. And Chura tells that he is named Lion after killing one. And they both gets married.
Many people looked down on Chura because of his ugliness but he the quality of warrior in him.
