A. x + 1 = 3(y – 5)
B. x – 5 = 3(y + 1)
C. y – 5 = 3(x + 1)

The point-slope form:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

We have:

(-1,\ 5)\to x_1=-1,\ y_1=5\\m=3

Substitute:

y-5=3(x-(-1))\\\\y-5=3(x+1)

Answer: C. y - 5 = 3(x + 1)
