First you know that a = 2 and b = 3. You would start fighting the equation which would be 2 + 3 = 5. Therefore your answer would be B) 5. It’s really easy just don’t overthink it.

Replace a with 2 and b with 3 to get 2+3.
2+3 = 5.
The answer is B.
