if the first number is -4 than the amount of integers between -4 and 8 would be 11 (*I think)

Assuming that -4 and 8 are not included, let's count them! The numbers are

-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7

We wrote 11 numbers, so that is the answer.
