F(x) = x2              g(x) = (x – 3)2 + 2

1: The graph of f(x) is below.  Draw and label g(x) on the same graph

2: Describe how the graph of g(x) relates to the graph of its parent function, f(x)

F(x) = x2              g(x) = (x – 3)2 + 2 1: The graph of f(x) is below. Draw and-example-1

f(x - n) - shift the graph n units right

f(x + n) - shift the graph n units left

f(x) - n - shift the graph n units down

f(x) + n - shift the graph n units up

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

f(x) = x²

g(x) = (x - 3)² + 2

shift the graph of f(x) = x² three units right and two units up.

F(x) = x2              g(x) = (x – 3)2 + 2 1: The graph of f(x) is below. Draw and-example-1
