Please help me solve this:

cos^2x=0.36, find sin^2x

The useful trig identity is

... cos(x)² + sin(x)² = 1

Then

... sin(x)² = 1 - cos(x)²

For your value of cos(x)² = 0.36, this becomes

... sin(x)² = 1 - 0.36 = 0.64
