Well to solve this problem, you would need to start with... 4x + 4 + 2x - 10 = 180... and if you were to simplify it, it would then go down to 6x - 6 = 180.

add the six to the other side, divide and then you'll get the simple answer of X = 31.

The angles are on a straight line which means they add up to 180. Make them add up to 180 in an equation.

(4x + 4) + (2x - 10) = 180

Combine like terms.

6x - 6 = 180

Add 6 to both sides.

6x = 186

Divide both sides by 6.

x = 31
