Dan and Omar each ran every day as part of an excercise routine. Dan ran 4 miles each day for x days. Omar ran 6 miles each day for y days.

The total number of miles that Dan ran is greater than the total number of miles that Omar ran. Write an inequality describing this relationship.

We can represent the Omar's miles by 6y or miles ran per day times number of days. In this case, Dan's miles are represented as 4x.

They told us that Dan ran more miles than Omar. We can write down that as Dan's miles > Omar's miles.

When we convert that into the variable form we get:
4x > 6y
