Given that an empty box weighs 2 and 1/4 pounds.

Weight of the fruit is 16 and 2/3 pounds.

Weight of filled box means total weight of box and the fruit.

So we will add both values.

2 and 1/4 pounds+ 16 and 2/3 pounds

= 2 + 1/4 + 16 + 2/3 pounds

= 2 + 16 + 1/4 + 2/3 pounds

= 18 + 1/4 + 2/3 pounds

= 18 + (1)/(4)+(2)/(3) \; pounds

= 18 + (1*3)/(4*3)+(2*4)/(3*4) \; pounds

= 18 + (3)/(12)+(8)/(12) \; pounds

= 18 + (3+8)/(12) \; pounds

= 18 + (11)/(12) \; pounds

Hence final answer is 18 and 11/12 pounds.
