An experiment starts and the population of a bacteria culture increases by 10% in the first hour. assume that the population increases at a rate proportional to the amount of bacteria.

a.what is the doubling time?
b.if the initial population is 2,000, what is the population in 6 hours?

A: 2 hours

B: 3,200

To start you must find 10 percent of 2,000. That would be 200. now multiply 200 by 6 giving you the rate increased over 6 hours. That gives you 1,200. now simply add 1,200 to your original population of 2,000. That's your growth. Hope i helped! :)
