2.5 x + 10 = x - 0.5

2.5x -x = - 0.5 - 10

1.5 x = -10.5

x = -10.5/1.5 = -7

First choice

Check

2.5(-7) + 10 = -17.5 + 10 = -7.5

-7 - 0.5 = -7.5 good
