To solve this system of linear equations , either simply multiply a value to get the x and y terms equal, and then add them up, and if there are - and + signs it will cancel out.

2 ( X - y ) = 4

2x - 2y = 8
X + 2y = 4

3x = 12

X = 4.

2y + 4 = 4

2y = 0

Y = 0.

(4,0). This is the solution that matches both linear equations.
