D - he was desperate to have the Boylen girl as his wife, a girl who seemed to know her way with how to manipulate someone into doing your bids :) Therefor he tried his luck with the Pope.

When Henry VIII wanted a divorce from his wife, Catherine of Aragon, B) He summoned the Reformation Parliament to legislate changes in his favor. This Reformation Parliament sat from 1529 to 1536. King Henry VIII summoned it to settle his divorce from Catherine of Aragon, which the Pope in Rome was blocking. In these few years, it also made laws affecting all aspects of national life, especially religion practice and doctrine.
