If you eat 2/3 of a pizza, and are left with 12 slices, how many slices are in 1/2 of the pizza?

if you ate 2/3 and 2/3 is 12 slices then you do 12/2 and that is 6.

then you do 6*3 to get 18**the total amount of slices** and then you do 18/2 and you get 9.

Answer=9

I apologize if this is wrong.

Glad to help though!

Let's consider the number of slices of the pizza to be
p. Based on the information given in the problem,
(1)/(3)p = 12. Multiplying both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of the coefficient will remove the
(1)/(3):

3 \cdot (1)/(3)p = 3 \cdot 12

p = 36

Half of the number of pizza slices would be 18.
