Isolate the x.

Do the opposite of PEMDAS. Note the equal sign. What you do to one side, you do to the other.

2/3x - 2 = 7

Add 2 to both sides

2/3x - 2 (+2) = 7 (+2)

2/3x = 9

Multiply 3/2 to both sides to isolate the x

2/3x(3/2) = 9(3/2)

x = 9(3/2)

Multiply 9 with 3, and divide by 2

9 x 3 = 27
27/2 = 13.5

x = 13.5 is your answer

hope this helps
