On November 29th of 1947, The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution in which Palestine was called to be divided between Arabs and Jews.

The plan proposed by the UN, partitioned Palestine in 3 Jewish sections, 4 Arab sections and the internationally administered city of Jerusalem. The voting went 33-13 in favor of the partition, having all of the Arab Nations walkout of the voting, as a sign of protest.
