For an object in circular motion, the centripetal force is given by:
![F=m(v^2)/(r)](https://img.qammunity.org/2019/formulas/physics/college/lfx1shw27td010b9whm2xckwvxaxcomf5g.png)
where
m is the mass of the object
v is the tangential speed of the object
r is the radius of the circular path
Therefore, we see from the formula that there are three physical quantities that affect the value of the centripetal force: the mass of the object, its speed and the radius of its orbit.
