To solve the inequality
17 + x ≥ 33, we need to get x by itself. We can do that by subtracting 17 from each side. This gives us the inequality 17-17 + x ≥ 33-17, which simplifies to our answer of
x ≥ 16

Isolate the x. Subtract 17 from both sides
x + 17
≥ 33
x + 17 (-17)
≥ 33 (-17)
x
≥ 33 - 17
x
≥ 16
x ≥ 16
