Hi!

To solve this, we divide 790 by
33 (1)/(9)
.

First, turn
33 (1)/(9) into an improper fraction
, by multiplying the whole number by the denominator, then adding that to the numerator. Then that number becomes the new numerator, and the denominator stays the same.

33 * 9 + 1 = 298

(298)/(9)

Now turn 790 into a fraction.

Any whole number can be turned into a fraction simply by putting it over 1.

(790)/(1)

Now divide the fractions.

When dividing fractions, you multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. The reciprocal is a flipped fraction. So the reciprocal of 1/2 is 2/1.

(790)/(1) * (9)/(298)

(7110)/(298)
Simplify the fraction.

(3555)/(149) or
23(128)/(149)

The answer is
(3555)/(149) or
23(128)/(149)

Hope this helps! :)
