How many non-real solutions are in x^2+5=0

If we solve for for x-squared, we would have
x^(2) =-5 and then
x=+/- √(-5). The solutions are
x= √(-5) and
x=- √(-5). Both solutions are non-real because you can't take the square root of a negative number without involving the imaginary "i".
