Honestly, I find it to be quite often. Especially for people who had to grow up fast. Being in a childlike state allows many people to relive the childhood they never gotten, as well as to let go of the stress of being older. This technic of mentally “de-aging” is actually used in therapy as a way to help people cope with stress, PTSD and other mental illnesses. Overall, wanting to be in a childlike state again is not uncommon and often is seen during stressful situations or times where one is sick. As we all want to be taken care of once in a while.
