A sample of 80 high school seniors, 45% of which are female, were surveyed as to whether or not they are employed outside of school. 25% of the boys surveyed said they are not employed. How many boys are employed?

Answer:

33 students

Explanation:

Okay, so the first dude almost did it right, so yes, I copied and pasted

First find how much percentage is male.

100% - 45% = 55%

55% of the high school seniors surveyed are males.

80 x 0.55 = 44.

44 high school seniors are males.

next multiply 44 with 0.25

44 x 0.25 = 11

but this is where the other dude messed up because the 11 is the number of boys NOT employed, so now:

44 - 11 = 33

So, 33 senior boys are employed

if this is wrong let me know

hope this helps:)
