Answer:

4(111)/(200)\text{ gallon} water was drained from the pool each minute.

Explanation:

Given,

124(7)/(8) gallons of water drained from a pool in 25 minutes.

So, the drained water in 25 minutes =
124(7)/(8)\text{ gallon}

=(999)/(8)\text{ gallon}

Drained water in 1 minutes =
(999)/(25* 8)

=(999)/(200)

=4(111)/(200)\text{ gallon}

Hence,
4(111)/(200)\text{ gallon} water was drained from the pool each minute.

we know that
124 7/8 gallons of water drained from a pool in 25 minutes
124 7/8 gallons------> (124*8+7)/8-----> 999/8 gallons----> 124.875 gallons

by proportion
124.875 gallons/25 minutes=x gallons/1 minute
x=124.875/25-----> x=4.995 gallons/minute
round to the nearest gallon------> 5 gallons/minute

the answer is
5 gallons/minute
