Seven times a number is 7n.
Seven times a number minus the number is 7n - n.

7n - n =- 48
6x=- 48
x=-48/6
x=-8

The answer is -8 I believe.

To put this into an equation, we get 7x-x=-48. This is equal to 6x=-48. When we divide we get -8.
